Peter Koh Poh Sye studied Western Painting at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, graduated in the year 1962. Fortunately, he was privileged to work under the tutelage of influential first generation Singapore artist Cheong Soo Pieng.
During the year 2004 Koh lived and painted in New Zealand where he also enrolled in a specialized course in painting restoration which eventually gave him a valuable grasp of the intricacies of the restoration process. He moved to Melbourne of Australia in 2005 and continued to paint and exhibit. His distinctive series of church studies marked this phase of his artistic development.
Koh has actively participated in art exhibitions locally and abroad since 2001.
Koh had won the Dr. Tan Tsze Chor Art Awards for outstanding work of abstract and representational painting respectively for four successive years, 2004 to 2007 as well as another one for the year 2012. The DTTCAA is an annual art competition organized by the Singapore Art Society for all members the society to participate.
Koh’s paintings are in the art collections of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, the Singapore National Library and the Penang Art Museum of Malaysia.
画家：许宝狮履历 许宝狮1962 年画毕业于南洋美术专科学校西洋画系。非常幸运地，他有机会师从具有影响力的第一代新加坡画家钟四宾学习美术创作。 公元2004 年许宝狮到新西兰进修专业油画修补课程并在当地写生作画，这段旅途给他增添了许多宝贵的学问和知识，也把握机会在那里参加一些美术展出。他于2005 年前往澳大利亚墨尔本，继续写生作画和参加展出。他那研究教堂景观的独特系列，是他艺术发展生涯中的一个重要旅程碑。 自从2001 年开始，许宝狮经常参加本地与海外各地的画展。连续四年，2004 年至2007 年以及2012 年，分别获得了新加坡艺术协会主办的绘画比赛抽象和具象绘画组的陈之初博士艺术奖。 许宝狮的作品已被南洋艺术学院，新加坡国立图书馆及马来西亚的槟城美术馆珍藏。
